Dappled Things has a lovely little piece on minimalism today. I do think that it over simplifies the issue a bit. KonMari followers are looking to keep items that “spark joy” and friends of an Eastern persuasion seem also to care for beautiful objects while also valuing simplicity. But I like the nod toward a more fully a Catholic aesthetic of fecundity, beauty, and intentionality in the face of a consumerist or anti-consumerist society.
